Example Portfolio
A more conservative portfolio that I manage that is supposed to be “hand off”. In other words I don’t make adjustments more than perhaps once a month at most. The focus is on Margin of Safety and a long runway for growth although there are a few small positions in early stage explorers to spice things up. At this point in the correction the portfolio is “only” up 3.36% on the year, 27.45% over the last 12 months and 83.08% in the last three years. Might not sound like much but it is still well outperforming GDXJ (By more than 2X since 2016). Anyway, it shows that with little to no active effort (aka work) one can still do very well simply by HODL:ing a diversified junior portfolio (and still outperform the market). On that note it’s good to remember that 95% of people do not beat the market, active or not, over the long term. Sometimes it really is enough to just try to pick the best Long Term Risk/Reward opportunities one can find and just sit on ones hands. It sure beats getting 0% returns in the bank.
(No PPs, no warrants, no leverage)
Notice the high volatility. There several 30%-50% corrections in the graph above but the trend is pretty clear. Most people, if actively managing their portfolio, would unfortunately sell out near one of the many bottoms because they can’t take the pressure/volatility.

Note: This is not investment advice. I own most of the companies mentioned myself as well and many are banner sponsors. Thus consider me biased and make up your own opinion. Juniors can be very volatile and risky.
