In Part 2 of this 3 Part series, “Desirable,” geologists Cal Herron and Quinton Hennigh explain why Nevada is one of the most unique environments for gold exploration in the world, with really no other place tectonically similar. One of the most desirable locations of all is Iron Point, a vast, district-scale property, surrounded by mega-million ounce gold deposits, rich in all the major tracer elements for gold, and for the first time, controlled by one company that has a very good idea of where to drill for it. Nevada King Gold Corp. grew from nothing to one of Nevada’s largest claim holders in five short years. The company now controls ground around many of the world’s most prolific producing gold mines, with drilling ongoing at several projects.
